A troop and cluster in leaf litter and damp soil.

Some had white, shaggy caps and brown apexes and fibrous, brown and white stems.

Others had smoother, mottled sepia caps and were taller.

The gills were regular and off white.

The stems were hollow and flesh cream, the caps darkening to brown.

The caps were less than 70mm and the stems less than 15mm and 60mm tall.
