This Russula had a white stem which was 21mm thick and tapered downwards, and a brownish-grey, 73mm cap, which was bitten and peeling.

It had white, sometimes pinkish, skin and flesh.

The white gills were widely spaced; the stem was a light grey-brown and less than 70mm tall.
