On the upturned cut logs in The Dell I spotted Phleogena faginea — Fenugreek Stalkball (Fig. 9.15).

I was not able to identify this fungi that I saw in The Dell and elsewhere until I came across a post on Jeremy Barlett’s LET IT GROW Blog.

Some weeks later I returned to the logs and confirmed that they did have a strong “curry” smell.
