These had smooth and silky stems which varied from orange to light yellowish to grey.

They grew in a cluster from under or on the side of a rotting log.

The conical caps were greyish brown and sometimes discoloured to orange.

The gills were attached and white, but sometimes turned darker brown.

In this photo on Day 19, you can see the gills and stem up close — there are no grooves on the stem, so it is not M. polygramma.
