Day 3 – 24 August 2023

I spotted these rather dark sporangia on a mossy log, surrounded by vegetation.

They had curry-yellow peridia at the base of lighter yellow, candy-floss-like capillitia (threads making up the inside of the sporocyst or ‘head’ of the fruiting body).

I saw them again on Day 4, where they had demonstrated little change.

This was a smaller group found on the same log.

On Day 5, I found some pink sporangia nearby, which I later discovered where juvenile H. clavata.

The photo on the right shows the further maturing sporangia covered in droplets of water.

I found their diminished forms on Day 7.
